Roof of Africa 2010

The 2009 Roof of Africa rally will go down as the toughest Roof ever. It was tough on me too, nineteen hours of riding in seriously tough terrain with thirty degree heat really pushed me to the edge of my endurance.

This years red bull romaniacs hard rally in the Carpathian mountains was brilliant! After two years finishing third in this nuttiest of races I went one better this year finishing in second after five days of torture.

You guys might have seen a crazy Mexican guy on a Husqvarna ripping round britomart at the red bull city scramble. Well that guy was Jesus Zavala a mate I met in Erzberg  the year before.

The last two weeks I have been at his place in Valle de Bravo Mexico training for the upcoming red bull romaniacs rally and competing in two rounds of the world enduro championships. It was a real eye opener; I was expecting the Mexico you see in the movies, dry and dusty desert with plenty of cactus and sombreros.

After work tomorrow I'm jumping on a plane and heading off to Valle de Brava in Mexico for my first go at a World Enduro Championship round and to do some serious Red Bull Romaniacs training with Jesus Zavala.

As part of our international exchange rider programme Jesus has really hooked me up.
